Proactive Family Program

Parenting By Objective

Letter from the Eyres

Throughout a vast and diverse world where so much
divides us, there is one thing that wherever you go,
seems the same. And that is the tender feelings, the
hopes and the love that parents feel for their children
. Everywhere on this planet, when polls or surveys ask, "What is most important to you?" or "What is your highest priority?" the answer is the same: MY CHILDREN! MY FAMILY!

Of all the things then, that are worthy of our time and our thought and our best effort, family and parenting is at the top of the list. But it is not enough to say family is the most important. This is not a world where we can sit back and hope for the best, hope our children turn out okay. Our children's success, their values, their happiness … are not things that can be left to chance … or to the schools, or to the media, or to the peer group. This is a time for proactive parenting. This is a time to decide what we want to give our children and to find the plan and the materials that help us take charge of who they are becoming.

Valuesparenting.com is a proactive program of "parenting by objective" where parents focus on a sequence of goals. 1. Teaching JOY (social and emotional well-being and self-esteem) to their preschoolers; 2. Teaching RESPONSIBILITY (accountability, motivation, and organization) to their elementary-age kids; and 3. Teaching SENSITIVITY (empathy and concern for others) to their adolescents and teens. All three are taught within the context of twelve KEY VALUES that are worked on with kids of all ages.

What is the legacy you want to leave your children? What do you want to give them while they are with you? Imagine the satisfaction of being able to say "I gave them JOY! I gave them RESPONSIBILITY! I gave them SENSITIVITY! I gave them VALUES!"
